If you are heading to Berlin in the near future, be advised that spring has not spread its warm, flowery days just yet. In fact, migratory birds, who arrive din Germany over the past couple of weeks, are currently leaving the country due to its cold, gloomy “spring” time.

The cold recurring weather in Berlin and all over Germany is turning into a little problem. People are getting confused and tired over the cold, sunless days. The future forecast just adds up to the whole grey scene with more unsettling weather conditions coming from the British Isles. We should be expecting more snow, frost, rain and drizzle at least until the end of the coming week, with temperatures bellow the zero, combined with sharp, cold winds.

This has been Berlin’s gloomiest winter on record in the past 43 years and less sun simply means less happy people. The average hours of sunshine this winter has been estimated to reach are a little over a 100, making local residents depressed and desperate for sunshine.

As we all know, natural sunlight is important for the production of the mood regulating neurotransmitter serotonin. When lacking it, the human body goes into a mood change known as SAD or seasonal affective disorder.

Even though the days are still gloomy, it is recommended we all go outside and spend as much time as we can on a natural day light, not sitting in front of the computer.

Hello Berlin explorers, I am Tia (short for Teodora, 28) and I am very excited to share my unique and local experience of this amazing city. I've lived all over the German capital and I am a big fan of each and every borough. I hope, through my reviews, you will get to experience the true Berlin and become a fan as well.
