First of all, for book lovers this is a must.
Nice walk in Prenzlauerberg, lunch at Kollwitzplatz and then romping among the books in St. Georges English bookstore.

The place itself is very local- mainly for Americans and Brits who live in this area. The owner comes from UK and is infinitely friendly and helpful. It’s not  big but  big enough to find really good stuff. There are also used books which are cheaper (and they are decent books!).
Besides they also sell magazines such as  The New York Review Of Books and Exberliner.

In the English bookstore there are certain sections such as  philosophy, theory, fiction and German history. something for everyone,  poetry section with classic authors like  Pound, Ginsberg, Bukowski, Creeley, Plath and Hughes and less obvious; Mandelstam, Corso, Mayakovsky, Walcott…or British & american fiction writers such as Chandler, Orwell, Dick, Rushdie, Roth, Carter, Bowles, Ballard, Fitzgerald, McEwan and  they offer a selection of foreign authors translated into English such as Capek, Moravia, Hrabal, Toussaint, Perec, Tolstoy, etc

The atmosphere is very important too. A big, old fashioned sofa encourages you to take a sit and stay there bit longer with your piece of Hrabal. If you’re unsure about what you should choose, you can always ask the staff for advice. They’re really qualified.

There are also book lovers evenings organized there with authors who come and present their work and you can enjoy it with a glass of wine or a beer.

Berlin should be my second name- i like my name too much, however,Berlin is the love of my life. If I leave it than only to have a love affair with another place, but I'll come back. From rock n roll dives to posh champagne bars , open airs, flea markets, bookstores, concept stores, caffes etc- i ve been (almost) everywhere. It's an electric city powered by thousands of different, creative people and it offers infinite cultural possibilities. If u won't fall in love in Berlin like i did, don't miss your chance for a fling at least..
