Izumi is the best japanese sushi restaurant Berlin Mitte. I’ve tried a lot of sushi places in the capital city, but so far Izumi has turned out to be truly the best sushi around (unfortunately, Berlin lacks good sushi places).

The location is very central (near Check Point Charlie). It has a simple, but pleasant ambiance and offers great sushi for a great price. There are appetizers and bountiful salads for the price between 2-7 euros. The traditional miso soup and miso-sake soups are present as well and there is a variety of all kinds of fresh rolls varying between 3-7 euro for a 6 piece (maki rolls, inside-out rolls, nigiri, temaki, sashimi and many more). My recommendation is the awesomely delicious hot spicy tuna and the EBI tempura inside-out rolls!

Izumi’s sushi prices are very affordable and the service is usually prompt and friendly. There is a menu for two and a set menu option, which gives a choice of already selected sushi-items. The set menu prices are between 7- 40 euro. Yet, for about 30 euros one can get a rich, yummy dinner, including the drinks.

A few german beers, prosecco, sodas and juices comprise the drink list.

There is an online menu and Izumi sushi restaurant delivers, so you don’t really have to leave your house/hotel/hostel. Reservations are welcomed, but not really necessary.
